Pre – Teens and Teens: Life doesn’t have to be this hard.

Between the ages of 9 – 27 our brains go through so much change. I have expertise helping pre-teens through young adults not only survive, but thrive through these changes. I have worked in community and residential treatment settings where my clients have been in, nearing, or moving past crisis. I help my my clients build resilience and strength so they can stay out of crisis. My magic happens when I work with young people struggling with anxiety, depression, panic attacks, perfectionism, and harmful coping such as self-harm.

My Approach

In therapy speak, I am an ‘interpersonal’ or ‘relational’ therapist. My approach is rooted in modern attachment and neurobiological research. What that means for you is that I will take the time to get to know you as a whole person and work from there to build a meaningful and cooperative relationship within which the work of therapy occurs. I believe that a strong therapeutic alliance creates the most space for your growth and healing.

I provide playfulness, acceptance, curiosity and empathy as tools to move my clients from suffering and discomfort into joy. From the foundation of an emotionally safe relationship, I use each individual’s or family’s goals as a framework. This may be building coping skills, learning communication skills, or exploring how your behavior is connected to other aspects of you. I hold my clients accountable as a gift to them to promote change and lean into health and healing.

Families: Invest in your future.

When kids are struggling, it effects the whole family. I’ve helped families just like yours overcome conflict and gain control over their behaviors and emotions. I utilize strategies from systemic, didactic and emotion focused family therapies to make your life together work.

Let’s see if we are a good fit.

Reach out via phone, text message, or email to schedule a consultation call. On our phone call, we will discuss what’s bringing you to therapy, your goals, and how my approach works in the context of you.
